●Julie and Julia● Just Like a Pleasant Sweet!

Photobucket

Since I am not from the US, I was not familiar with either Julia Child or Julie Powell.
Plus cooking didn't seem charming for me, so I didn't have much expectation for this movie at first.
The only reason that made me want to watch it was Amy Adams. She is such a likable actress!

After watching this movie, I have to admit that my thinkings changed.
This movie inspired me much.

I love eating and don't know what I am going to do after graduating from the university. It is quite similar to Julia Child's situation. Also, sometimes I don't enjoy my study, nor am I satisfied with my performance. Just like how Julie Powell felt about her work.

They had been kind of lost, but then they both found themselves back in the wonderful world of cooking.
I wish I will find something I love and be devoted to it. Even if it is just an ordinary thing like cooking. As long as I love it, I can make it special :) Like how Julia Child changed the way Americans cook.

What really touched me was how their husbands supported them. They both found very good husbands. Their husbands appreciated whatever food their wifes did. Isn't it sweet?
I think one of the most beautiful scenes in the world is that a wife cooks for her family and then everyone enjoys a meal together. Do you think so too?

The thing is, cooking seems to be so simple for them. Though my mom always tell me cooking is easy, I never think so :P
But that's OK. I am still young, so I have time to learn!
I am gonna let my family be addicted to my food :D

Meryl Streep has been nominated or won for the Best Actress because of this movie for many times.
She deserves them.
I checked for the real Julia Child's shows, and I was pretty impressed by Meryl Streep's version of her. While there is something I didn't like about was Meryl Streep's accent. I can hear that she was trying to imitate Julia Child's accent, but Meryl Streep makes me wonder if Julia Child has Misarticulation. Beside that, I think Meryl Streep did a great job in this movie.

Julie Powell's personality is a bit weak compared to Julia Child in this movie. She is a lovely lady but not as interesting as Julia Child.
I have read some reviews wrote about how they didn't like Julie Powell in the book and how Amy Adams brings this character to life. Well, she is just adorable, isn't she? She has a power to let you love her character even if this character doesn't have much to tell.

All in all, this is a movie I strongly recommend to you for a laid-back Saturday afternoon.
Watch this movie with your husband, your family or your friends.
Enjoy it as a pleasant sweet :)

Bon Appetit!

5 nouns about Chery

I would like to introduce myself a bit in the beginning, so that we can know each other better :) The following are five nouns I chose to describe myself. You are more than welcome to reblog this one and make your own "5 nouns about ____". I would love to read it!

Family- I am raised up in a family full of love. There are five members in my family- my dad, mom, younger sister, and a dog which is considered to be my youngest sister. All of us are connected to each other strongly. We share every piece of our daily lives. When I am happy, I know there will always be someone to cheer with me. On the other hand, when I am sad, I know there will always be someone to listen to me and tell me how to step out from that point. I cherish it as being part of this family. As a family person, my biggest dream is having a happy family of my own in the future.

Christian- I met God when I was 18. It was my last year at senior high school. I was almost weighted down by the stress of exams, but God helped me pass everything with flying colors. It was the time when I knew being a Christian would always be part of me. God teaches me to be a humble and better person through everything. He looks for those people who are in needs through my eyes and asks me to treat everyone with a true heart. I am happy that I am a Christian. For that I know I will always be rich and happy with God’s care.

Anne of Green Gables- Anne of Green Gables is my favorite book of all time. I am influenced much by this book. In other words, my personality is quite similar to Anne Shirley, the leading lady in Anne of Green Gables. She is full of imaginations, hardworking, and cheerful. On the other hand, she can be very stubborn and spunky sometimes. Just like me! If Anne Shirley did exist, I think she and I would be “kindred spirits”!

Arts- I appreciate beauty. For me, there are full of beautiful things in arts. I love all kinds of art, and dance is my favorite one. I have learned dance since I was 4 years old. I find myself extremely satisfied when dancing. Music and painting makes me happy too. I cannot imagine this world being without arts. It would be so boring and lifeless.

Travel- I travel every once in a while to take a break from my busy school life. As I mentioned above, I appreciate beauty. And nature is absolutely the most amazing masterpiece I have ever seen. Beautiful things make me happy, so trips to beautiful scenery make me happy too. I also learn things when traveling. Learning different cultures is one of my enthusiasms. All in all, traveling is good for our mental health in many aspects.
